  Cash Family: Rebecca Pitcher   |
Cash Family: Rebecca Pitcher ~ Light Blue Violets ~ #5301 ~ Collectors familiar with Blue Ridge will instantly recognize this shape as being the pitcher shape called SALLY by Southern Potteries, Inc. Per the Cash Family reference guide, we will use the REBECCA designation when describing Cash Family/Clinchfield Artware items in this shape. Pitcher measured 5-in tall from tabletop to highest point of pitcher handle. Lovely painting of the design around the body and inside the upper lip with delicate brushstrokes on the handle to complete the pattern. Lovely shine to the glaze and clean as a whistle inside and out. Free of chips, cracks, and crazing of the glaze, but not without a few imperfections from the making of the pitcher. We recognize one kiln kiss where the pitcher touched another piece of pottery during the firing process ~ on the lip edge near the handle. Just beyond the kiss is a minor glaze skip on the lip edge. Another glaze skip on the backside of the handle (handle turned to the right) and one pinhead indent in the pottery on the back side of the lip above the blue flower where the glaze most likely bubbled (and burst) during firing. Please note that it is not unusual to find glaze skips where a pottery shape forms a sharper edge where it is harder for glaze to adhere properly. Click on our hiddens above and below to view highly enlarged hiddens of these manufacturing blems. Overall it is a beauty and, of course, a REAL DEAL! SOLD Not Available
