Clinchfield Artware Red Dogwood Barrel Pitcher - #7755 - Difficult to find among Cash Family treasures! A Blue Ridge pitcher in the same shape is known as an Abby Jug. The dips and ridges in the pitcher shape make accurate photo representation of the painted design extremely difficult. Click our hidden above for another view. Ignore the glare found only in the hiddens ~ painting is lovely! Free of chips, cracks, and crazing ~ exceptionally clean. In our first hidden below, note the vertical mold impression extending from top edge to base. At the top of the mold line, there is a small area on the pitcher edge that was not sanded smooth during manufacture ~ click the pic for an enlarged hidden. Click the second pic below to view highly enlarged bits of grit caught between pottery and glaze on the back of the pitcher ~ original to manufacture and mentioned solely for description accuracy. View backstamp below. Standing an impressive 6.25 inches from tabletop to highest point on pitcher lip, this is a very exciting find. In addition to being a difficult shape to find, we believe it is highly likely that this pitcher was painted by Mildred Edwards, known for her superbly detailed designs painted on Cash Family pottery!
