Cherokee China Company   According to our reseach, Cherokee China Company was established in Jonesboro, TN in the early 1940's, the owner having formerly had a connection to SPI in Erwin, TN. This pottery continued in operation for only about 10 years. Some of the Cherokee Pottery marks include the words Rogersville, Tenn., so it is thought that the pottery may have been located there at some point in its history of operation. Our research also shows that some of the hand-painted pieces were pottery, some were porcelain. Cherokee Flared Vase ~ Blue Floral - #6079 - Lovely painting, bright shine ~ beautiful on display! Measuring 4.5" tall and 5.75" across the opening, it tapers gracefully to 3.25" across the bottom of the base. Free of chips and crazing. Measuring 5.5" square, it is found to be free of chips and cracks. Upon close and careful inspection, fine, clear crazing is found. One dot of out of place paint found near the left edge. Therefore, we elected to use names of similar Blue Ridge patterns. If a similar Blue Ridge pattern was not found, we chose a name to describe the painted pattern. We have owned a matching 9" inch square plate in the Red Nocturne pattern, so it may also be possible to find the larger size in the other patterns shown above!
