  D. Morgan Artist

A native of Atlanta, GA., Doris Whitten Morgan began showing her work at “sidewalk art shows” in 1972. She says that it has taken her 27 years to become an overnight success! Her formal study of art was at The Museum School of Art in Atlanta, however, she credits her father, the late John L. Whitten, as her most influential teacher. Today she is one of the most often published and widely distributed artists in America. (Information excerpted from the artist's website.)

A personal note: In the early 1970s, we had the opportunity to meet D. Morgan at Powers Crossroads, a well-known Georgia annual Arts and Crafts event, and it has been a pleasure through the years to follow her amazing career.
