French Peasant   A figural folk art pattern most likely designed in the likeness of French Quimper. Some of the pieces are painted with the figure of a man, others with only the woman. FOR VIEWER REFERENCE ONLY Two of the artists who painted for SPI have personally told us that the cobalt blue paint used by SPI was one of the most difficult paint colors to work with. SPI's cobalt color tends to have a slight 'flow' to it similar to vintage flow blue china, and extra spatters of cobalt color are often found out of the design area, underglaze and original to manufacture.
