However, the bowl size is distinctly smaller than any veggie bowl we have seen before in the Grandmother's Garden pattern. Traditionally, the round Blue Ridge vegetable bowl is about 9.25 inches from outer rim edge to the opposite outer rim edge and the height about 2.25 inches from table top to top rim edge. This bowl is considerably smaller, measuring 8 1/8 across and 1 7/8 inches in height, and it is definitely not the same shape as the flat soup bowl! Since England entered WWII before the USA entered the war, the 3 dots and 3 dashes repeated around the English platter edge could have intentionally been Morse Code for VICTORY.
