Upon close inspection in bright light, we found a tight, thin hairline which runs from the lip down through the leaf (opposite the handle) toward the bottom of the cup. More noticeable from inside the cup. So subtle, we almost overlooked it. Click on the image of the cup above to view the other side. The saucer is beautifully painted and free of chips, cracks, and crazing except for 2 teeny teeny nicks to the back edge that are definitely not seen from the front ~ we mention ONLY for the sake of complete description accuracy.
