  Mardi Gras  

Mardi Gras has five distinct variations. It is found painted on the Colonial and Candlewick shapes with a red edge as well as on both shapes without the red edge. View our last image at the bottom of this page for a variation in the painting of the design, a squiggle added at the tips of the leaves.

According to Ruffin, Blue Ridge China Today, p. 48, a 64-piece set in the Mardi Gras Variant pattern was advertised in a 1942 Montgomery Ward catalogue for $11.98.
