Interest in Blue Ridge Pottery as made by Southern Potteries, Inc. (and the related potteries) extends beyond collecting the pottery to the Great Smoky Mountain and Appalachian areas. We are now listing volumes found on the secondary market that we think will be of interest to our viewers. In many cases, these books may be out of print (OOP). Enjoy!
Tracks Across the Blue Ridge - #7494 - John Hassell Yeatts, copyright 1991. Hardcover, no dust jacket, pages appear clean, no markings or tears, 108 pages, solid binding, not an ex-library copy, some black & white illustrations throughout.
Linen-like cover boards measure 6.25-in x 9.25-in. STATED FIRST EDITION. Short stories (and a few poems) of the Blue Ridge Mountains including the Gabe Randleman Reader. It is stated that many of the events, places and descriptions are real, however, most of the characters are fictitious. Previously owned, purchased by us on the secondary market. Other than minor bumps to cover corners, edges, and ends of spine, the book is in very clean condition. The first three pages have a faint crease. No markings or torn pages. No inscription, not an ex-library copy. Some pen and ink drawings and a few black and white photos found throughout. GOLD LETTERING on cover front, back and spine is in excellent condition. A book to be enjoyed! 24.50

John Parris ~ Thesse Storied Mountains - #6034 - Out-of-print hardback with dust jacket, 365 pages. We believe his volume to be a FIRST EDITION (no other printings are mentioned). Attractively illustrated with black and white drawings by Dorothy Luxton Parris. Signed by the author, John Parris, who gave up a career in international journalism to return to his roots to write. This is the fourth volumn in a series. Purchased by us on the secondary market, this volume is previously owned, but remains in good to very good condition. The dust cover shows wear around the edges with one tear/fold to the bottom left front. Click on our hiddens above for more pics. We did not attempt to remove either of the pieces of tape holding the dust jacket to the front and back end papers or the small name label at the top edge of the front end paper. Outside book covers (front and back) are in very good condition with some wear to corners and the bottom and top spine edges. The embossed gold is in excellent condition. The dust jacket has done a great job protecting the book! Interior pages are very clean. We found no writing other than the author inscription on the front end paper and an inscription on the back end paper (from the time the book was purchased and presented new as a gift). The latter adds provenance to the book and makes it even more special! 45.00
