Summertime   Another dot and dash border pattern! Painted in yellow, pink, lavender, green, red, rust, and blue, this pattern is found more often on the CHINA (porcelain) accessories than on the pottery dinnerware pieces. Lovely! Negatha Peterson, former artist for SPI, told us that the flowers in all of the blue dot-and-dash border designs were painted using a large English floral platter (with the same style border) as a design guide! Since England entered WWII before the USA entered the war, the 3 dots and dash repeated around the English platter edge could have intentionally been Morse Code for VICTORY.
