Talisman Wild Strawberry   One of the Blue Ridge patterns painted to match Talisman Wallpapers from the early 1950s! Painted on the Colonial shape, the pattern is similar to Wild Strawberry and adds a lighter shade of green to the coloration of the design. FOR VIEWER REFERENCE ONLY United Wallpaper Company, maker of Talisman Wallpapers, had offices located in the Merchandise Mart in Chicago one floor above the Southern Potteries, Inc. offices. Between 1950 and 1952, the idea was formulated by the two companies to produce several coordinated wallpaper and chinaware patterns. This idea was put into operation on a small scale, but did not prove successful and was abandoned after a short period. Since (Newbound, Blue Ridge Dinnerware, 1989, p. 149.) UWC's Talisman line boasted: Now your china can match your walls. Patterns included: BLOSSOM TREE, WOODBINE, YORKTOWN, TALISMAN WILD STRAWBERRY, and CHERRY TIME. (Ruffin, Blue Ridge China Traditions, 1999, p. 160.) It has been our experience that these patterns are very difficult to find due to limited production.
