Waltz Time   Pattern #3597 A bouquet of garden flowers including pink roses, blue tulips, and yellow iris is found painted on the Colonial-shaped dinnerware. Negatha Peterson, former artist for SPI and founder of Erwin Pottery, told us that the flowers in all of the blue dot-and-dash border designs were painted using a large English floral platter (with the same dot and dash style border) as a design guide. Since England entered WWII before the USA entered the war, the dash and 3 dots repeated around the English platter edge could have intentionally been Morse Code for the V in VICTORY.
